Yogi Tea Recipe

YOGI TEA

Originally given by Yogi Bhajan, here’s a recipe for a large batch of this unique and deliciously exotic tea

YOGI TEA

In a large pot, place one gallon of filtered water.

Add to it:

20 whole cloves
20 whole black peppercorns
20 whole green cardamom pods (crush with a rolling pin or mortar & pestle)
5 sticks of cinnamon
2" fresh finely sliced fresh ginger root

[You can adjust this recipe to your taste. Don’t overdo the cloves since this makes the tea pretty spicy.]

Bring the water to boil and then add all ingredients. (Alternatively, you can add the spices to the water and bring everything to a boil.)  Bring to a boil, then turn the fire down and simmer for one hour, with the top on, just a little askew to the side. Once done, let it sit overnight, covered completely.  It will continue to get stronger.

The next day, strain into a pitcher and store in the refrigerator.  When you are ready for a cup, pour about 8 ounces into a saucepan, add some milk, (diary, soy or rice), and bring to a boil.  When it boils, it boils up and over the sides of the pot really fast, so keep an eye on it.  You can add a little bit of black tea (1/4 tsp) at this point, and let it steep.  Black tea acts as an alloy for all of the ingredients, achieving a new chemical structure which makes the tea a healthful and delicious drink. Then strain and serve with honey or maple syrup to taste.

Each ingredient of this tea has a specific function: the black pepper is a blood purifier, the cardamom is for the colon, the cloves for the nervous system, the cinnamon for the bones. Fresh ginger us especially good when you are suffering from a cold, recovering from the flu or for physical weakness. Oregano seeds can be added when you have the flu, about 1/4 tsp per cup.

Extra slices of fresh ginger root are especially helpful when you are suffering from a cold, recovering from the flu, or for general physical weakness.

FOR CLEANSING:
Make a large batch of Yogi Tea and store in the Fridge.
In the mornings, brush your teeth and then brush the back of your tongue and the sides of your throat.
It'll make you gag up any mucous in your throat.  Spit and rinse your mouth.
Then, pour an 8 ounce glass of the cold Yogi Tea with no milk. Sip it slowly.
Then wait 1/2 hour before eating anything.

This is an easy way to detox the liver, kidneys, intestines.  It'll pull a lot of mucous out,
and strengthen your body.
Continue at least for 3 days to see how you feel.  This can be a routine that you get into, to strengthen
your health! Delicious, energizing, and easy!
