Yogic Tips for Survival in the Modern Times
1. Sitalee Pranayam
Sitalee Pranayam | Curled Tongue Breath
Posture: Sit comfortably with a very straight spine, chin pulled slightly in, chest slightly out. Rest the palms on the knees.
Breath: Open the mouth slightly, and extend the tongue just outside the lips, curled into a “U.”
Inhale deeply through the rolled tongue. Exhale through your nose. Continue. Consciously breathe.
Eyes: Closed.
End: Inhale. Hold, pull the tongue in and relax.
Time: This meditation can be practiced for 3-5 minutes or longer. For Detoxification & Rejuvenation: Practice 26 times in the morning & 26 times in the evening.
Comments/Effects: This is a very cooling breath. It can aid when someone is very angry or upset. It also helps to cool down a fever. It can get rid of fear and is especially good for calming panic attacks. It brings strength and stamina. The tongue may taste bitter as you detoxify.
As the breath becomes very long, life will become very long.
Certain things come to people who do this kriya. All things they need on this earth are given to them by the planetary ether. In mystical terms it’s said, ‘Heavens shall serve thee.’
2. Special Technique: A Spell which can Cool the Hell
If you want to cut out somebody or anything obnoxious in your life — not by ego judging, but by consciously judging — just imagine the situation, person, place, or thing and start sending the vibrations.
Recite from the navel point:
Har Haray Haree, Wahe Guru.
By the time you finish eleven times, it will all be over with. That’s how fast these sounds are. It is a spell that can cool the hell. Your navel, the pure center of energy, must move with every sound in a rhythmic combination.
3. Brain Tips for Survival in the Aquarian Age
There’s no reason for someone to say, “I am burnt out.” You get burnt out when the blood does not feed your brain properly and when the quality of the blood is impure.
According to the ancient yogic teachings, the brain is divided into exactly ten equal parts, five of the west and five of the east, and they all need to communicate among one another.
Lemon: An Ancient Chinese secret. Cut a Lemon in two – rub it on your feet. It takes away all the heat of the brain. If the temperature of the gray matter is only 1.8 F more than the body’s temperature, disease sets in.
Wooden Comb: Whenever the brain isn’t functioning correctly, it’s because the serum isn’t circulating. Then the temperature starts rising. That’s the main cause of disease. At night comb your hair backwards, and then forward. Using a wooden comb balances the gray matter in the brain.
Without functioning gray matter, a man and animal are the same, there’s no difference. Animals work by impulse, and man must work by intuition.
Meditation: You must meditate. The person who meditates is cleaning their mental problems. We release 1000 thoughts per wink of the eye, and the thoughts not processed will go into the subconscious and become haunting thoughts.
We have reached the Information Age: Today, with just a press of a button a person will have all the knowledge. People thought it was impossible, but it’s possible.
Something which was meant to be good for you is already showing you computer-itis and in technical terms, we call it “mental disorientation syndrome” because the mind cannot catch up with so much around us.
Solution: Meditate.
4. Nerve Strength and Computers
* For those who work with computers, if you want to survive – 3x a day wash your hands in cold water. You must take a very cold napkin or cloth, wash your face and eyes for two or three seconds, plus wash the back of the neck. Otherwise ultimately it will get to your nerves.
* Doing a lot of yoga will not make you a saint. But it will maintain you as a human.
You need strong nerves today.
5. Five Sutras to Live By
Guiding principles for our consciousness as we
Grow into the Aquarian Age Consciousness:
1. Recognize that the other person is you.
2. There is a way through every block.
3. When the time is on you, start, and the pressure will be off.
4. Understand through compassion or you will misunderstand the times.
5. Vibrate the Cosmos, and the Cosmos shall clear the path.
6. Haunting Thoughts Removal
Remove haunting thoughts with the mantra, “Ang Sang Wahe Guru”
Posture: Sit with a straight, firm spine. Place your hands in an asking posture — Elbows bent by the sides, forearms forward and slightly up from parallel to the ground, with palms face up and lightly cupped.
Eyes: Look at the tip of your nose. (Eyes are slightly open, & stare at the tip of the nose.)
Time: Unspecified. Use your intuition to watch the thoughts dissolve.
FOCUS ON A HAUNTING THOUGHT
Think a haunting thought such as a fear, a paranoia, sense of loss, etc., that comes again and again in your life. Bring the haunted thought into a mental thought form.
Now cross-multiply your mental thought form. For example, take the thought, “Oh, I am betrayed.” Then mix it like this:
“I am Betrayed. Ang Sang Wahe Guru.”
The words “Ang Sang Wahe Guru” kill the haunting thoughts, if brought into a mental thought form. Do it three, four, five times and then see if it is haunting anymore.
This is called “Penetrating Therapy.” It changes the haunting thought that is after you by penetrating the subconscious and unconscious. In a few minutes you can feel the difference; with a little effort you can hit the target. You will feel comforted and won’t even remember what the problem was.
“Ang Sang Wahe Guru” is meant for destroying unconscious habits & thoughts and avoiding the consequences.
Note: Translation of “Ang Sang Wahe Guru”: God is within me. God is with me. God is over me. God is under me. God is all over, with every limb of mine.
7. Using Mantra and Mantra Boxes
Mantras are high sound currents that have a positive effect on the psyche and body. They help clean the subconscious so the person is more clear.
Mantras can be used in meditation, silent or chanting aloud. Purchase a Mantra Box and in your home, play a mantra continuously, 24 hours a day.
Put a mantra in your bedroom and play it while sleeping – it will go deeply into the recesses of your unconscious.
For sleeping, an excellent mantra to release internal grief and deep fears is “Chattar Chakkar Varatee” – the last 4 lines of Jaap Sahib. A good version to sleep to is by an artist named Kulwant Singh.
Chattar Chakkar Varatee,
Chattar Chakkar Bhugatay.
Suyan-bhav Subhang Sarab-daa Sarab Jugatay.
Dukaalang Pranaasee, Dayaalang Saroopay.
Sadaa Ang Sangay, Abhangang Bibhootay.
Thou art pervading in all the four quarters of the universe,
Thou are the Enjoyer in all the four quarters of the universe.
Thou art Self-Illumined and united with all.
Destroyer of bad times, embodiment of mercy.
Thou art ever within us.
Thou art the everlasting Giver of Undestroyable Power.
8. Take a Brisk Walk: with Sa Ta Na Ma
Need more energy? Feeling down? Change your environments and mood by going out for a brisk walk, alternately swinging your arms.
Use the mantra that cleans and balances the subconscious in the following way:
Saa – Press the Index finger pads to the thumbs.
Taa – Press the middle finger pads to the thumbs.
Naa – Press the ring finger pads to the thumbs.
Maa – Press the pinkie finger pads to the thumbs.
9. Left Nostril breathing
“Long breath means long life.”
Breathing through the left nostril activates our moon energy, and can make you calm and peaceful. Use it when you are nervous, about to sleep, and want to bring about a feeling of deep inner peace. Use it to calm your mind.
Block the right nostril with the right thumb. Breathe in long and deep through the left nostril. Hold a few seconds. Then reverse: breathe out long and deep through the left nostril. Start with 3 minutes and build up.
10. Anti Depression Breath
Meditation on the Breath For Healing & To Break Depression
Posture: Sit with a straight spine. Relax the hands in your lap, palms face up, left under, right on top; or rest your hands on your knees in Gyan Mudra (index fingers curled under the thumbs).
Eyes: Close the eyes with 9 parts, leaving them just slightly open. Focus the eyes on the tip of the nose.
Breath: Inhale through the nose, in four equal parts, until the lungs are completely full. Exhale one time through the nose.
Each inhale is a quick, 4-part sniff, so powerful it causes the sides of the nose to collapse in slightly. The exhale is one stroke — smooth, long and deep. Focus on the flow of the breath, to keep the broken breath equally divided.
Mantra
Recite the following mantra on the inhale:
Sa, Ta, Na, Ma
On the exhale, mentally recite:
Wahe Guru
Time: Practice 11 minutes, for 40 days.
Comments: This breath is used to heal one’s self and to break depression.
11. Handling Our Emotions in Shifting Times
“It is our Birth Right to be Happy.”
Commit to remain happy, and the entire psyche of this planet benefits – so we are making an offering towards World Peace!
Here are a few tips.
⦁ No Negative Words: For 40 days, say nothing negative, hear nothing negative, not even against your worst enemy. Negative words eat up your energy, so forgive the past and move on.
⦁ Moods make us burst out with words that shake the trust of even very loyal friends. Speak not in anger. Try this: press your tongue against the upper palate very firmly and begin long, deep breathing through the nose. Slowing the breath to 5-7 times a minute for 3 minutes alters the mind’s frequency, calms emotions, and your tongue will be occupied so you can’t speak.
⦁ Hydrate: We get upset when we are dehydrated. Take some water, say a prayer over it, and drink it. We can’t stay mad if our water level is ok.
⦁ Chew on a carrot or celery stick. It’ll occupy and channel a lot of the inside disruption. One man used to fight with his wife all the time. He started chewing on celery instead, and their relationship totally improved. It’s also good for the nerves and blood sugar.
